Scripture Reading — Ex 6:1-8
Why do we take time out to fast and to pray? Why do we subject ourselves to the discipline of denying the flesh and reaching out to God in faith? Why have we set aside these 21 days to seek the face of God concerning the New Year that we are about to enter into?
The bottom line is simply because we believe that God is faithful to keep every promise that He has made to us, and our faith in Him through His Son Jesus Christ, is the guarantee of the answer to our prayers.

God called Moses out of Egypt and instructed him to go tell Pharaoh to let His people go that they might serve Him.

One would be excused in thinking that, that assignment would have come with the assurance and guarantee of a speedy resolution considering the authority that backed the errand.

But Moses had to wait and go through a process, together with the people he was leading, that God used to prepare them for the journey He was leading them on.

God many times will tell us the destination, but leave out the details, He’ll show us the end product and leave out the process, only giving us enough light for the next step, or enough information for our next obedience.

As we saw with Jacob in our text yesterday, God speaks at the place of prayer; when weariness and discouragement sets in — He gives a word, a prophecy, a vision, a dream, hope, a strategy, an expectation to refresh and revitalise us.

Maybe He has done this to you over the past 14 days that we have been waiting on Him. Maybe He has spoken a word to you or brought to your remembrance a promise for you to claim.

I am the LORD:
God goes to the furthest length possible to confirm this covenant with the children of Israel. In seven separate I will promises, God says, “I’m going to do it. You can count on me.”

  • I will bring you out
  • I will rescue you from their bondage
  • I will redeem you
  • I will take you as My people
  • I will be your God
  • I will bring you into the Land
  • I will give it to you as a heritage

Prayer Focus

Confess those promises over your life and situation.

Declare them to every Pharaoh that is resisting your deliverance. Command every affliction in your life or oppression over your life and destiny to come to an end.
Release the year 2018 from the dominion of the oppressor that is positioned against your progress.
Remember the words of the song – He’s able… God is truly able to come through for you.

God is able to do just what He said He would do, He’s able to fulfill every promise to you. Don’t give up on God, cause He won’t give up on you…
He’s able!
Shalom,
