Running With The Horsemen (2)

Scripture Reading For Today – Jeremiah 12:5-6

Following on from yesterday’s blog, we will be meditating on God’s word to Jeremiah in Jer 12:5-6, in response to Jeremiah’s complaint to Him about
his situation.

Jeremiah was going through a phase that many of us will experience at one time or the other. Maybe you reading this, are even going through it right
now – he was going through a season of discouragement and despair. Have you ever been at that place before?

God’s response to Jeremiah is rather interesting and instructive to us. He said to Jeremiah (Jeremiah 12 :5-6 NET):

“If you have raced on foot against men and they have worn you out, how will you be able to compete with horses?
And if you feel secure only in safe and open country,
how will you manage in the thick undergrowth along the Jordan River?”

God was saying to Jeremiah:

Man up, Jeremiah; Get your act together!

Look beyond your present state and your previous struggles; I’m yet going to do bigger things in your life and magnify my name in your situation!

If you can’t handle the issues that are overwhelming you in this small space that you are in now; how will you contend with the bigger issues that
will come with the promotion that you have been praying for?

The hardships and challenges that you have been going through are just to prepare you for the great destiny that I have got planned for you. A preparation
for where I am taking you to.

Do you not know that I’ve got bigger fish for you to fry?; I’ve got bigger Giants for you to conquer; I’ve got bigger mountains for you to take.

Get up from that “pity-party” and stop feeling sorry for yourself!

If you are giving up now because of the challenges on this flat stretch of land you are passing through, how can you then contend with
the giants in the high places, that lie ahead and possess the land of your inheritance? If the training is too tough for you to handle, how can
you then survive the real test for the big testimony?

The struggles and challenges you are going through right now, are just a dress rehearsal for your victory parade. Hallelujah!

As TD Jakes asks in the title of one of his books: “Can You Stand To Be Blessed?”

The bible says in Proverbs 34:10;

“He who faints in the day of adversity, his strength is weak”.

Again, God is asking you to take a fresh look at your life and your situation and consider the question that He asked Jeremiah. Do you think you have
what it takes to kick it up another level?

Oh yes you do!

He himself has said: “I will never leave you and I will never abandon you.” So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, and I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? (Hebrews
13:5b-6)

Scripture Reading: Romans 8:31-39

“31What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32Indeed, he who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all – how will he not also, along with him, freely give us all things? 33Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34Who is the one who will condemn? Christ is the one who died (and more than that, he was raised), who is at the right hand of God, and who also is interceding for us. 35Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will trouble, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36As it is written, “For your sake we encounter death all day long; we were considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37No, in all these things we have complete victory through him who loved us! 38For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, nor things that are present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Don’t get weary running with the footmen. You have been prepared to run with the horsemen! There are greater victories yet for you to win
.

Lift up your voice and make this declaration of faith with me right now:

I am not a victim; I am more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus!

LIFE APPLICATION:
1. What is God saying to me in today’s message?
2. What was ministered to me in the bible verses that I read today?
3. What are the changes or adjustments I need to make in my life to align with the word of God?
4. What is my commitment to the word for today?
5. What practical steps can I take to benefit from the word I have read today?

PRAYER FOCUS:
Declare the word of God into every area of discouragement in your life:

Say unto these things; Because God is with me, nothing can stand against me.

Command these things to align with the word of God for your life.

Declare the word of God: I am more than a conqueror – I have complete victory in Christ Jesus.

I command these dark clouds that have been hanging over my life, my thoughts and my emotions to disperse in the Name of Jesus and be replaced by the
cloud of His Glory.

Death is not an option; death is not my portion; defeat is not my portion; failure is not my lot in life.

I will not be discouraged; I will not be depressed; I will not be dismayed. I receive the peace of Christ that surpasses all understanding, as the
anchor for my soul today in Jesus Name.

I will make it in the Name of Jesus!

Amen.

May God bless and strengthen you in the mighty Name of Jesus.
