“You are loosed from your infirmities”
Scripture For Meditation —1Kings 18:41-45; Eph 3:20-21
What Do You Think? Think Again!
Continuing our mediation on the scripture that we read for yesterday’s blog, the Holy Spirit began to talk to me about another angle on the theme of persistence of faith —
Many times, what we think will affect what we look for, and consequently, what we see.
In other words, our inability to remain persistent in believing and standing on the word that we have received from God may not be because of what we hear, but rather, because of what we think!
Elijah had returned from speaking to King Ahab,
“…and said to his servant, “Go up now, look toward the sea.” So he went up and looked, and said, “There is nothing.” And seven times he said, “Go again.”
Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said, “There is a cloud, as small as a man’s hand, rising out of the sea!” So he said, “Go up, say to Ahab, ‘Prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.’ ” 1Ki 18:43-44
Here’s an interesting thought for you to consider:
Earlier in1Kings 18:41; Elijah had declared to King Ahab:
“Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.” NKJV
Is it possible that Elijah’s servant had also heard this proclamation about “abundance of rain” and consequently overlooked and discountenanced the “small” fist-like cloud the first six times?
“The seventh time the servant said, “Look, a small cloud, the size of the palm of a man’s hand, is rising up from the sea.” Elijah then said, “Go and tell Ahab, ‘Hitch up the chariots and go down, so that the rain won’t overtake you.'”
I want you to please think about that for a moment –
Like Elijah’s servant possibly did, could you also have been overlooking the cloud that is carrying your miracle because it doesn’t fit the vision of what you think you are looking out for or because it doesn’t appear to fit into your idea of what you think God has said He’s going to do?
Is it because you think it looks too small, too insignificant or too commonplace to signal the “big”change you have been believing God for?
“Do not despise the days of small beginnings says the Lord”; And again He says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways”, declares the Lord!
Listen again…WHAT DID YOU HEAR?
And, Think Again!
That “little” cloud that you have overlooked and disregarded and dismissed may be the “miracle cloud” carrying your breakthrough.
Listen again; Think Again!
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Eph 3:20-21
I hear the sound of an abundance of rain…
Can you hear it too?
Prayer Focus
Pray that God will help you to look with the eyes of faith and see things from His perspective as you think of, or look at those issues that have troubled your mind.
Pray that your thoughts, your emotions and your actions will be influenced and moderated by the conviction of your faith in God who cannot lie, that has spoken concerning your life.
Continue to declare and confess what you expect and believe to see; refuse to accept or to believe the report of the “evidence” that the enemy has been declaring to you!
End today again by praying for God to deliver you from every disabling spirit that has hindered you; and pray the same for your family and the church in Jesus’s Name.
Shalom
