Pro Vision

In yesterday’s blog, we looked at vision and how it should essentially be about what God has on His mind for us—His plans concerning our lives; and not just our own desires or ideas about how an ambition is to be fulfilled.

What! Does that mean it is wrong for us to have ambition and desires for our lives?

The answer to that is a resounding No; but the key point is that our desires and ambitions should flow from God’s plans for our lives — what He desires and has envisioned as His purpose for our lives or for that particular season of our lives as it were.

The beautiful thing about this approach to defining “our vision” for the new year, is that what God envisions, He also resources.

That’s What He Does!

One of the covenant names of God by which He revealed Himself to the children of Israel is Jehovah Jireh. (Read Gen 22:1-14)

Many times, people have done great injustice to the meaning of this name, by reducing it to just a noun (My Provider or Supplier) instead of seeing it as the verb that it is; a powerful statement that carries a promise!

The literal translation of this compound name of God is — “The Lord Will Provide!”

Think about that for a moment in the context of “vision” that we have been meditating on.

Every vision from God comes packaged with the provision to accomplish it; that’s what the word provision really means — that which is supplied and made available for the vision.

His name — Jehovah Jireh, is thus an eternal promise and a guarantee, that He will provide the necessary resources or that which is needed to bring His vision, His plans and His purposes to pass in your life. Hallelujah!

Prayer Focus

Surrender the vision for the year before God (desires, plans, proposals for ministry, career, business, family, etc). Prov 16:3

Pray to God for open heavens over your life and over the year 2020.

Pray that the supply lines that will carry the blessings for your season will not be blocked or hindered in Jesus’s Name. (Isa 60:11)

Pray for the release of the provisions for the vision that God has birthed in your heart for the year. (The resources, people, materials, finances, infrastructure needed to accomplish the vision)

Pray for divine favour over your life and your name in Jesus’s Name.

Pray for the release of a fresh anointing that is peculiar to the season and necessary for the accomplishment of the vision for the year.

Shalom,
