Scriptures For Meditation — Isa 53:1; Rom 4:17-21
Whose Report Will You Believe?
In our first scripture for today (Isa 53:1), Prophet Isaiah asks the nation of Israel two questions:
Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
Israel had been living out a story that was the complete opposite to what God had promised and intended to be the reality of their existence.
God had sent His prophets to declare His counsel concerning Israel and the coming of the Messiah to deliver them and set them right again.
The Jews however did not receive the report, and for this reason He was not manifested to them as the promised Messiah and they remained bound in their captivity and bondage to a life that was limited by their ignorance and their beliefs.
Your Story Must Change
Over the past four weeks (since the beginning of the new year), God has been speaking to us about the imminent change to the story of our lives that do not align with what He has written concerning us.
As we have learnt, everyone has a story.
There is something that has been the hallmark of most of our lives; something that has become the thing that people have used to identify us, or that we have used to identify ourselves. The lies that the devil has made us to believe about ourselves, our abilities or our destiny.
The lies that we have told ourselves and believed up until now, that had limited us and prevented us from being all that God has purposed for us to be or having all that He has designed for us to accomplish.
Whose Report Will You Believe?
The bible tells us that Abraham (Rom 4:17-21) chose to believe a different story about his life and his circumstances, and was rewarded with the fulfilment of God’s promises concerning him.
He stopped considering the seeming hopelessness of his situation and the apparent impossible limitations of the “realities” of his life, but chose instead to believe what God says about him!
Can you dare to believe what God has said and is still saying concerning you?
Prayer Focus
Dear friend, remind yourself again about the promises that God has made to you; begin to call yourself who God says you are. Declare it and Confess it as the reality of your life from today. Prophesy it as the story of your life that people will begin to declare concerning you in Jesus’s Name.
You are a Victor and not a victim. You are the head and not the tail; you are more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus. You are blessed and highly favoured of the Lord. You are destined to prosper and your life was made to bring glory to God!
As you believe and confess the report of the Lord, may the glorious power of His mighty arm be revealed to you to deliver the promises His mouth has spoken concerning you in Jesus’s Name.
Amen.
