An Experiential Knowledge of God
Scriptures For Meditation: Eph 1:Col 1:1-14; Eph 5:14-17
Our prayer focus for today,, will be on having an authentic experimental knowledge of God.
To this end, we will meditate on, and pray the prayers that Paul prayed for the believers in both the Ephesus and Colossian churches over ourselves.
Let’s begin with thanksgiving for the grace that we have received to be called children of God.
Let’s pray Eph 1:17
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant us a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him,
Eph 1:18
That the eyes of your heart will be flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones).
Eph 1:19
That you will know by experience, the workings of the power of His resurrection.
And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength,
Col 1:9
Pray that you will be filled with the full (deep and clear) knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom [in comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God] and in understanding and discernment of spiritual things.
Col 1:10
Pray that you may walk (live and conduct yourself) in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him and desiring to please Him in all things.
Pray also, that you will consistently live a life that is bearing fruit in every good work and steadily growing and increasing in and by the knowledge of God [with fuller, deeper, and clearer insight, acquaintance, and recognition].
Col 1:11
Pray that you may be invigorated and strengthened with all power according to the might of His glory, [to exercise] every kind of endurance and patience (perseverance and forbearance) with joy,
Let’s prophesy Into the month of October, That our knowledge of God will indeed produce fruit that will also prosper us in all our ways, spiritually, temporally and materially.
Let’s pray also, that the month of October will align with the perfect will of God for us and that the riches of His grace and favour will be abundantly manifest in our lives in Jesus’s Name.
Let’s end today with a prayer of thanksgiving and rededication, consecrating our lives afresh to Him and praying that the evidence of our faith in the Lord will bring glory to His Name and draw others to Him, desiring to serve Him as well.
Amen.

Continually Being Transformed
Scripture For Meditation: Phil 3:10
In yesterday’s meditation and prayers, we concentrated on rededicating ourselves to God, asking Him to dredge and rid our lives of the rubbish that has clogged up and inhibited the channels of His rivers from flowing with purity in and through our lives; and have stopped us from knowing Him and walking with Him more intimately.
We also prayed for God to unveil our minds so that the fulness of the truth of the Gospel can be made known to us with clarity and with power.
Now, these prayers we are praying have a purpose that we are setting our hearts to accomplish.
Our main scripture for today’s meditation is Phil 3:10 where Apostle Paul declares:
“My determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly]…”
Phil 3:10 (Amp)
We as Paul did, will also purposefully determine that we may know Christ more, and that our knowledge of God will lead to a transformation in our lives that we become more like Christ.
This was Paul’s overriding desire for both himself and the people that he ministered to.
Paul wanted A transformative knowledge and not just an informative knowledge of Christ!
He wanted to be completely overtaken with Jesus — That should be the heartbeat of every believer; that the inherent power of this gospel that we preach will truly have a transformative effect in our lives. This should be your determined purpose:
To use the information that you have about Jesus as a tool to bring about a transformation in your life and situation!
Paul knew Jesus as Savior, but he also wanted to know Him as Lord. Paul wanted a relationship with Jesus Christ that was so real and strong that it influenced who Paul was and how he lived.
Can you say the same thing about yourself?
More Questions To Ponder and Pray About
Is your knowledge of Christ deep enough that every area of your life is influenced by what you know?
Do you know Him enough that you have modelled your life to be like Him?
Have you allowed your knowledge of Christ to continually transform you like it did Paul, as he affirmed in the concluding part of his statement in Phil 3:10—
“…and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope]”
Phil 3:10 (Amp)
Pray that the resurrection power that raised Christ from the dead will indeed exert that life-changing influence upon your life, that will cause you to be continually transformed into the likeness of Christ.
Selah…

Open The Eyes of My Heart Lord!
Scriptures For Meditation — 2 Cor 4:4; 2Cor 10:1-5; Eph 1:17-19
Following on from the sermon that was preached last Sunday, we will begin this month’s fasting and prayers with a cry to the Lord to open the eyes of our understanding to receive the truth of His word.
In 2 Cor 4:4, we see one of the main strategies of Satan in his warfare against mankind — to becloud people’s minds with the veil of darkness in order to prevent them from imbibing the truth of the gospel that will set them free, in the case of unbelievers, or to hinder them from walking in the fullness of their freedom when they do get saved!
There are many born again, Spirit-filled believers who despite their love for God and sincerity of their faith, are nonetheless, struggling in their walk with God in some area or the other. And then, there are many of us as well, who know that we could still go deeper and get more intimate in our knowledge of God.
2Cor 10:1-5 talks about the reality of this warfare that the believer is engaged in, then gives us an insight into the weapons that we have in Christ Jesus that guarantee our victory in this battle.
Four Principal Focus Areas of Warfare
The passage also highlights four principal ways that the weapons help us to confront and overcome the enemy, so that we are able to enforce our victory as believers:
• Strongholds are brought down
• Arguments are refuted
• High Things are dismantled
• Thoughts are held captive and brought under subjection to the word of God.
Prayer Focus
Let’s begin by praying as Paul did in Eph 1:17-19, asking God to unveil our minds and to fill our hearts with His glorious light.
Let’s pray that whatever veil the enemy has used to cover our understanding be removed, so that we can know God even more clearly and be more intimately acquainted with Him.
Let’s pray that every stronghold that the enemy has erected in our lives to resist our growth in the Lord and progress in our walk of faith will be demolished in Jesus’s Name.
Let’s pray that God will shut the mouth of the accuser and refute every argument that the enemy has raised in contention against us in Jesus’s Name.
Let’s pray that every high thing that has been raised to resist the true knowledge of God be dismantled and made of no effect in Jesus’s Name.
Let’s pray that every contrary thought that is not in alignment with the will, plans, purposes and the truth of God concerning our life be arrested and brought under subjection to the authority that we have in Christ Jesus.
Let’s finish by rededicating our lives to God, and asking Him to fill us afresh with the knowledge of the greatness of His power, so that we can walk in the fullness of His call upon our lives and fulfil the purpose for which He has created and saved us.
