October 2021 Fasting & Prayers — Day 3

Fruitful In Every Way

Scriptures for Meditation: Mat 6:33, 3John 1:2, Is 37:31

In yesterday’s meditation and prayers, the focus was on developing and nurturing the fruit of the Spirit whilst also dealing with the undesirable character traits in our lives.

And Then Some More…

But God is talking to us about fruitfulness this month, and this also includes material prosperity in addition to spiritual prosperity. As the Bible says:

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in every way and [that your body] may keep well, even as [I know] your soul keeps well and prospers. 3Jn 1:2

Therefore today, we will also be believing God for fruitfulness in other areas of our lives as well.

In Isaiah 37:31, God sent a prophetic promise to the exiled Israelites about their restoration and impending fruitfulness. And the nature of this change, was that they would take root downwards and bear fruit upwards.

Prayer Focus

Let’s pray John’s desire for the brethren that we read in 1John 3:2 above, praying that our lives will be fruitful and that we may prosper in every way.

Let’s pray that we will take root downwards. That God will cause us to be firmly rooted in Christ Jesus, such that we become unshakeable in our faith and that the seeds we have sown in faith will not be uprooted by the enemy.

Let’s pray that the harvest from our labour will not fail; that the returns from our planting will bear fruit upwards and multiply to the praise and glory of His name.

Let’s bless the month of November in the name of Jesus. Prophesy into the month of November and pray that God will cause it to be the most fruitful month of the year so far.

Pray that your harvest will not be delayed or hindered and that the fullness of your fruitfulness will be evidently manifest this month in every area of your life in Jesus’s Name.

Bearing Good Fruit

Scriptures for Meditation: Luke 13:6-9, Luke 3:8-10, Gal 5:16-25

The fruitfulness of a Christian is the foundation of all true prosperity.

There is an appointed season for bearing fruit for every one of us. God has invested so much of Himself and heaven’s resources in us to empower us to be fruitful. Consequently, there is a time that God will come looking for seasonable fruit in your life and hold you accountable for what you have produced.

Q. What kind of fruit is your life and your Labour producing?

Not only will God be looking for fruits in your life, but also crucially, for what kind of fruit it is that your life is producing or has produced.

The fruits that we produce must be timely and seasonable (appropriate for the season; meeting the needs of the occasion, they must be fit for purpose)

The fruit of the Spirit are the foundational building blocks for Christian Living and Service.

More than material possessions and temporal fruitfulness will do, they provide an accurate measure of the fruitfulness of the knowledge of God in the life of a believer.

Prayer Focus

Today’s prayers will focus on a commitment to nurturing and manifesting the fruit of the Spirit in our lives.

Read through and meditate on the lists in Gal 5:19-21 and Gal 5:22-23

Ask the Holy Spirit to show you where you are lacking, that He will highlight any particular fruit of the Spirit that may not be mature, or that presents a challenge in your life.

With the help of the Holy Spirit, confront them and pray for the grace of God to be made available to you to walk in victory in those areas in Jesus’s Name.

October 2021 Fasting & Prayers — Day 1

October 2021 Fasting & Prayers — Day 1

This Months Theme: Bearing Good Fruit

Scriptures for Meditation: Heb 13:15, Hosea 14:2, Rom 12:1

As we come to the end of this month, one thing that we can definitely say, is that the Lord has been gracious and faithful to keep us through this year.

Day One Prayer Focus

1. We are going to start this series of fasting as we always do, by first thanking God for all that He’s done in our lives. Look around you; look at your life and your family and count all the things that God has done, that you can thank Him for.

As the scriptures say in Isaiah 57:19 —

Peace, peace, to him who is far off [both Jew and Gentile] and to him who is near! says the Lord; I create the fruit of his lips, and I will heal him [make his lips blossom anew with speech in thankful praise].

Give thanks to the Lord and pray that He will heal and rid your life of anything that may hinder or impact your fruitfulness, and that He will cause your lips to blossom anew with speech in thankful praise.

2. Next, we are going to respond to God’s goodness by offering not just the fruit of our lips in thanksgiving, but also offering our very lives as consecrated vessels unto Him.

As Paul also writes to the church in the book of Romans 12:1 —

I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship.

Rededicate your life to Christ.

Ask God to give you the grace for a renewed commitment to Him and the power to live a life that honours and brings glory to His Name.
