January Prayer and Fasting Day 2

STREAMS OF HEALING

Scripture For Meditation — Ezekiel 47:8-12; Rev 22:1-5; 2 Chronicles 7:14

Our scripture for meditation today is a key integral part of a prophetic word that God gave to us as we waited on Him in fasting and prayers at the end of last year.

He said that He would cause Streams of Healing to flow into our homes.

In retrospect, especially having experienced a few particular incidences since the turn of the New Year, I realise that maybe we did not quite pay as much attention to that prophetic word as we should have; maybe we missed a subtle message in that prophecy that we should have been particularly aware of.

PAY ATTENTION!

Just think about it… If God has said He will cause “Streams of Healing” to flow into our homes, would that not also suggest that there will be incidences of sicknesses that would be prevalent all around that we would need His healing power to keep away from our homes?

Indeed, as we think about that, I’m sure a few of us will notice how that has been a thing in our lives, in our families or in the lives of people that we know or are acquainted with. There seems to have been a persistent attack on people’s health since the turn of the New Year, both physically and mentally.

And even in many nations especially in the UK, the scourge of the Covid-19 pandemic seems to have taken a new lease of life, infecting many at an alarming rate, and taking lives with daily death tolls in the last few weeks rising to unprecedented levels.

But friends, God gave us a word of assurance before all this began to happen!

He said He will cause Streams of Healing / Healing Streams to flow into our homes and lives.

As the NLT translated verse 12 of Ezekiel 47:

“Fruit trees of all kinds will grow along both sides of the river. The leaves of these trees will never turn brown and fall, and there will always be fruit on their branches. There will be a new crop every month, for they are watered by the river flowing from the Temple. The fruit will be for food and the leaves for healing.”

There will be healing wherever the river flows…

While the world awaits a vaccine, we already have an antidote to the scourge; a sure defence against the spirit of infirmity that is plaguing the nations of the world.

Whatever the sickness, whatever the ailments, the River of God; the Living waters, the River of life; the life-flow from the blood that Jesus shed for us on Calvary’s Cross — The power in the blood that flows from the Marcy seat, from the Throne of Grace is indeed a veritable defence against all the storms of the enemy. Hallelujah!

Shalom,

Pastor Wale Ola

An Imminent Change

Scriptures For Meditation — Is 66:7-8; Is 65:17-24

Yesterday in our scripture meditation, we read in Isaiah 26:17-18 about the discouragement of a people, lamenting about their frustrated expectations and the disappointment of pregnancy and the pain of labour without the benefit of delivering a live baby.

But in the first of our scripture text for today’s meditation, we see God presenting a prophetic declaration of an impending change and a new reality to Israel.

As soon as Zion Travailed, She Brought Forth

God was saying to His people; I know that the reality of your past experiences and the story of your present situation has been one of frustrated labour of pain without gain and aborted deliverances, but I am now declaring a different future to you!

“Before the birth pains even begin, Jerusalem gives birth to a son.

Who has ever seen anything as strange as this? Who ever heard of such a thing? Has a nation ever been born in a single day? Has a country ever come forth in a mere moment? But by the time Jerusalem’s birth pains begin, her children will be born.” (Isa 66:7-8, NLT)

In this prophecy, God was promising them that a time was imminent upon them, when their story will change suddenly and their circumstances will turn around to conform with His will, plans and purposes for their existence — they would be delivered from their captivity, gathered from where they have been scattered, brought back into their own land and made to become a nation again.

And all these was going to happen in one day; suddenly, in an instant, and without the delay or pain of a protracted labour!

Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day, or shall a nation be born at once?

Normally, the law of nature demands that through the operation of the principle of seed time and harvest, there is usually a time lapse between when a seed is sown and then the process of germination, maturity and harvest; but He was going to suspend the law of nature and make it happen in a moment.

As Albert Barnes said in his commentary —

“Months and years are required before the earth would be covered with its luxuriant and beautiful productions But here would be an event as remarkable as if the earth should bring forth its productions in a single day.”

Can you also believe this for yourself?

Can you dare to believe that God can do the same in your situation and about your life? That He can bring about your change in one day, in an instant and in a sudden moment?

If God can do it (as He did) for a whole nation, is He not able to do it for you as well?

Selah,

Pastor Wale Ola

PRAYER FOCUS

Our prayers for today will be taken from our second scripture text Is 65:17-24.

Every one of those verses contain a promise to Israel about the blessings of their coming change that we could also use as a template or pattern to shape our prayers today.

Dear Lord, please do something new in my life; change my story and wipe away the painful memories of my past experiences.

Let my life become a source of joy and gladness, and my household be a continuous manifestation of your mercy and victory.

Wipe away the tears of my disappointments and give me reasons to celebrate and rejoice in this new month.

I pray Lord, that your promises concerning my life will no longer be delayed; that I will not suffer any more miscarriages and your plans for my life will no longer be aborted.

I pray that I will no longer labour in vain neither will I toil for minimum returns or no rewards.

I pray that long will I enjoy the fruits of my labour and the work of my hands the the produce of my harvest will be blessed.

Bring the month of June before God, and pray that the answers to these petitions will be manifest in your life in the Name of Jesus.

Amen.

Frustrated Expectations

Scripture For Meditation — Isaiah 26:17-18

When a woman is pregnant, she is said to be “expecting”.

Expecting means: To think or believe something will happen, or someone will arrive. It also means Normal; what usually happens; to regard (someone) as likely to do or be something.

Let’s do a quick word study on the meaning of the root word, expect.

When the root word “Expect” , is used, we mean to say that we believe that something will happen, or to consider something as likely to happen, to believe that (someone or something) will arrive soon.

So, Expect means: To anticipate, await, look for, hope for, watch for, look forward to, look ahead to, have in prospect; contemplate, bargain for/on, bank on, be prepared for, plan for; predict, forecast, foresee, prophesy, envisage, envision.

Unfortunately however, as we read in today’s scripture text, things sometimes don’t go, or happen as we expected; times are, when our expectations are delayed or even completely disappointed at other times.

“As a woman with child approaches the time to give birth, She is in pain and struggles and cries out in her labor, So we were before You, O LORD.

We have been with child, we have twisted and struggled in labor; We gave birth, as it seems, only to wind. We could not accomplish salvation for the earth, Nor were inhabitants of the world born.” (Isa 26:17-18 Amplified)

We have been with child — Like women with child; we have been full of hopes and expectations of great things, of deliverance from our enemies, and of the help from God being at hand:

We have been in pain — We have gone through the waiting period of pregnancy carrying the hope of a coming baby; sometimes in great distress and anxiety, and now we have come to the time of birth when we expect that the baby will be delivered; travailing in birth, we looked upon the pain as a prelude to a happy issue of things: ThatThis baby will be born!

We have as it were brought forth wind — But alas; our efforts have availed nothing. (The issue of all their painful toil was like the result of a false pregnancy!)

We have been through the waiting, we have suffered patiently in the hope; we have been through the pain of the travailing, but without the expectant result!

Can you identify with all that?

Hear again, what God is saying to you dear friend:

“Zion, would I bring you to the moment of birth and not let it happen?” says the LORD. “Would I close up a mother’s body when it is time for her baby to be born?” says your God.” (Isa 66:9 NIRV).

Keep Speaking Right!

Keep declaring the words of the prophecy and promise that God has given to you; keep speaking the right things concerning your life and into your situation. That is what pleases God!

“My son, if your heart is wise, my heart will be glad, even mine;

Yes, my heart will rejoice when your lips speak right things.

Let not your heart envy sinners, but continue in the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord all the day long.

For surely there is a latter end [a future and a reward], and your hope and expectation shall not be cut off.” (Pro 23:15, Amplified)

May Fasting & Prayers — Day 1

Theme Scripture for Meditation: Isaiah 66:7-9

Sometime this month, I had a conversation with God in which He asked me about a pregnant woman in labour going through a difficult time in delivering the child — What will she do at that point; will she just give up and let the baby die in her womb without delivering it? Will the medical personnel give up and abandon the process?

Today, we’ll be focussing particularly on verse 9, which has been resounding in my spirit for the better part of this month.

Here, God was symbolically using the scenario of a pregnant woman at the point of delivery, who was about to go into labour, to the state of His people who were at this time in exile under Babylonian captivity.

In the text, God was speaking into a seemingly hopeless situation and declaring something totally contrary to the prevalent state of things as they stood.

His word to them through the Prophet, was that there was going to be a supernatural, sudden turnaround of their captivity and they would experience a quick, pain free birthing that would deliver the promise of the Messiah and of Israel as a reborn nation, gathered together again, from whence they had been scattered.

Even though the prophecy in these verses, pertain to the Jewish nation and the coming of the Messiah and flourishing of the Gospel church, for the purposes of our fasting and prayers this month, we will go outside of the verse in context, and see a truth about God that is universal and consistent with His sovereign nature.

I read a particular translation of this verse, that really conveys this truth — The Doug-Rheims Bible Translation

“Shall not I that make others to bring forth children, myself bring forth, saith the Lord? shall I, that give generation to others, be barren, saith the Lord thy God?” (Isa 66:9)

Meditate on that for a moment…

God was putting forth the omnipotence of His majesty and His track record as a life-giver, the way maker — the God of breakthroughs and sudden turn arounds.

Just as that woman going through the delay of the difficult delivery will not be allowed to give up on the process by the midwife and accompanying medical attendants in that labour room, God is asking you reading this, going through a delay and difficult moment at the point of delivering God’s promises for your destiny or season not to give up, but to p-u-s-h!

They will encourage the woman to push and if she is too weak or incapable of doing so herself naturally, they will look for ways to intervene in order to prevent a destiny from being miscarried and aborted and safely deliver the baby in her womb.

The Holy Spirit is the midwife of your destiny at this point, and God is about to intervene in the delivery of His promises concerning you —if God is able to bring your personal desires to pass, is He not able to bring His own desires and will concerning you to pass?

He will not bring you to the point of birth and then abandon you and not cause you to bring forth!

My dear friend, it is time for the push to happen — God is about to intervene to bring forth that destiny that you have been carrying about in your womb. Don’t give up on that baby just yet!

Selah…

Pastor Wale Ola

Prayer Focus

Just get on your knees, assume a birthing position and push; together with the Holy Spirit, we will all act as the accompanying medical support to push through at the place of prayer.

If you are too tired or too weak to push, simply turn it over to God and ask God for a divine intervention to help bring the promise to birth and to prevent the baby from being still born!

Taking The Limits Off

Scriptures For Meditation — Luke 4:16-21; John 8:36

A recurring theme of the bible is the concept of deliverance, which is a by product of Salvation.

Even the Name Jesus, is derived from the Hebrew word Yeshua, which means Jehovah is Salvation.

In our first scripture for today’s meditation (Luke 4:16-21), Jesus lays out for us, His ministry calling card, detailing the essence of His assignment on earth. A close look at the words that He wrote, will show that the verses are expressing different aspects of deliverance from situations that will cause limitations in people’s lives.

This month’s fasting and prayers will be focused on exactly this — Praying for God to take the limits off of our lives!

Many of us are limited by different issues, facing diverse challenges in our lives, that are or have limited us and are contending with our ability to experience and enjoy the abundant life that Christ has promised us. We will stand together in the place of prayers over the next 3 days, to pray that our lives will begin to align with, and manifest the fullness of the promises of God to us in John 8:36.

Prayer Focus

In whatever ways we are being limited; in whatever situations the enemy has been exacting upon us, we are petitioning God to deliver us in the Name of Jesus, to manifest His glory and loose us and set us free indeed from every limitation that is hindering our progress in life, or has hindered us from fulfilling our God-ordained destinies.

Shalom!

DAY 2: FEBRUARY 2019 FASTING AND PRAYERS

DAY 2: FEBRUARY 2019 FASTING AND PRAYERS

Contending For Your Destiny

Scripture Reading: Matt 16:21-23; Eph 5:13-17

Mat 16:21  From then on Jesus began to tell his disciples plainly that it was necessary for him to go to Jerusalem, and that he would suffer many terrible things at the hands of the elders, the leading priests, and the teachers of religious law. He would be killed, but on the third day he would be raised from the dead.

Mat 16:22  But Peter took him aside and began to reprimand him for saying such things. “Heaven forbid, Lord,” he said. “This will never happen to you!”

Mat 16:23  Jesus turned to Peter and said, “Get away from me, Satan! You are a dangerous trap to me. You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, not from God’s.”

Matt 16:21-23 (NLT)

Whose Report Will You Believe?

One sure promise that God has given to us concerning this year, is that there will be changes to the stories of our lives; changes that will glorify His Name and move us into His destined purposes for our lives in this season. Can you say “Amen” to that?

Now as God has spoken, you have a decision to make – you can either choose to believe the word that God has spoken and start declaring it over your life and situation, or you can choose to continue to look at the things that you see in the natural, and ignore the word that God has spoken. But please remember, whatever choice you do make, you will eat the fruits thereof. Selah

As Paul writes, “we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.” (Heb 10:39)

The enemy’s strategy has always been to position himself to challenge the truth of the word that God has spoken to His children, and to try to derail them as they pursue the fulfilment of the word in their lives; he did it with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, he did it with Jesus at the temptation and in the Garden of Gethsemane; and no doubt, he will try the same strategy against you.

As the enemy did with Peter in Matt 16:21-23, sometimes, he will even use the people that are close to us, to give us “well-meaning counsel” that will bring us out of alignment with the will of God and His timely purpose for the season that we are in.

“Do not be foolish and thoughtless, but understand and firmly grasp what the will of the Lord is…!”

Maybe even now as you read this, he has already started to Weave his web of deception and lies to confuse your mind and prise the word of faith from your heart, make you change what you see, so that he can make you change your confession….and this is only the second month into the new year!

We will end today’s meditation by reflecting on the reading of our second scripture text from the Amplified translation of the bible:

Eph 5:13  But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light [of God’s precepts], for  it is light that makes everything visible.

Eph 5:14  For this reason He says, “Awake, sleeper, And arise from the dead, And Christ will shine [as dawn] upon you and give you light.”

Eph 5:15  Therefore see that you walk carefully [living life with honor, purpose, and courage; shunning those who tolerate and enable evil], not as the unwise, but as wise [sensible, intelligent, discerning people],

Eph 5:16   making the very most of your time [on earth, recognizing and taking advantage of each opportunity and using it with wisdom and diligence], because the days are [filled with] evil.

Eph 5:17  Therefore do not be foolish and thoughtless, but understand and firmly grasp what the will of the Lord is.

Prayer Focus

  • Lord let the words that I speak concerning my circumstances align with the word You have spoken concerning my destiny.
  • Dear Lord, please give me the wisdom to discern the counsel of man that is out of alignment with Your purpose for my life and my season.
  • Speak into and command every area of your life to obey the prophetic declaration that God has spoken concerning your life.

Contending For Your Destiny

Scripture Reading: 1Timothy 1:18; Psalm 102:13

What did God say to you? What had He said to you concerning your destiny, your career, your ministry, your finances, your children, this year?

What lies has the enemy been speaking to you through the circumstances and situations that you are experiencing right now?

Whose report will you believe?

Some Questions To Answer

As we begin our fasting and prayers for the month of February, I will like us to consider a few more questions which I believe have been inspired by the Spirit of God to move us into alignment with His promises concerning this season, and that we can use to pray through to the victory that is ours in Christ for this year—

  • Can you relate to any of the issues listed below?

    • Do you feel as though you have been fighting an unending battle that you never seem to be able to get a break from?
    • Do you sometimes feel powerless and exhausted fighting against an enemy that seems to be too strong for you?
    • Stagnation?
    • Disappointments?
    • Hinderance?
    • Delay?

If you have answered yes to any of those questions, please take some time to rejoice and celebrate the victory that you are about to experience over these challenges in this season of your life, as God exposes and destroys the operation of the spirit of Jezebel in your life!

The spirit of Jezebel is not a person! It is the spirit of discouragement that fights against the prophetic word that has been spoken over your life and destiny.

    How The Spirit Operates

The Spirit of Jezebel operates as strong demonic influences that stir up discouragement, weariness, jealously, resentment and suspicion, and is often vindictive toward the person who detects its presence or confronts its operation. It conspires to drive people to abort the progress and success of divinely ordained projects, purposes, relationships, organisation, potential and destinies.

It will sometimes use false prophecies or so-called, dreams, visions or “insights from God” to bring fear, confusion and discouragement, in order to negate or counter a genuine word from God or work of God. It is a beguiling spirit that draws the unwitting in and recruits them as an army against the work of God in your life.

    The Warfare

Remember as you examine the activities of this spirit that you will discover that you can be both the victim and perpetrator. As we deal with this spirit working against you, you also have to be aware that the spirit can use you as an instrument to discourage, hinder or sabotage the work or the plans of God in someone else’s life as well.

    The Victory

When the Lord gives you victory over this spirit, you will notice that a veil will be lifted, and scales of deception will fall from your spiritual eyes or from the eyes of those that the enemy has beguiled and had been instigating against you to hinder your efforts. Truth will prevail and set you free from anything built upon fabrications, lies, falsehood and untruths.

    Shalom,

    Pastor Wale Ola

    Prayer Focus

    • Lord, let me hear clearly, Your instructions that I need to hear to walk in obedience to Your word.
    • Lord Unveil my eyes; let me know the truth of Your word concerning my life and every situation that I am in right now.
    • Expose and destroy the influence of every lie of the enemy that has been designed to sabotage your plans and purposes for my life.
    • Deliver me from every deception and the lies that the enemy has used to distract me or to resist my progress and promotion; whether through words, my thoughts, my emotions and feelings, offences, jealousy, false prophecies, dreams and visions that are not from God.
    • Uproot everything in my life and in the lives of my helpers, my thinking and my emotions, that has kept me in bondage to the spirit that has been deployed to hinder the fulfilment of your word concerning my life.
    • I declare the truth of Your word over my life (Psalm 102:13).

January Prayer and Fasting Day 3 — (Thursday 31st)

    The River of God

Scriptures For Meditation — Ezekiel 47:6-12

Our scripture for meditation today is part of the key scriptures that God gave to us at the beginning of the year.

In keeping with our prayer focus for our fasting this month, we’ll be using these verses to pray for souls for GLA and the prosperity of the ministry.

God showed Prophet Ezekiel a vision of the River of God following out from the sanctuary down through the desert and finally emptying into the valley of the dead sea.

Very significantly, the consequence or the impact of this River as it flows through the different regions that it touches, is quite profound!

As the NLT translated verse 9,

“There will be swarms of living things wherever the water of this river flows. Fish will abound in the Dead Sea, for its waters will become fresh. Life will flourish wherever this water flows.”

And it goes on in verse 12 of the same translation:

“Fruit trees of all kinds will grow along both sides of the river. The leaves of these trees will never turn brown and fall, and there will always be fruit on their branches. There will be a new crop every month, for they are watered by the river flowing from the Temple. The fruit will be for food and the leaves for healing.”

There was freshness everywhere the River went. Dead things come alive and living things thrive even more; there’s prosperity on every side and barren desert places become fruitful. There will be sustained nourishment and every month will yield its increase!

Oh that that same River will flow into our ministry; what a glorious change it would make in our lives!

Let’s reach out to God and believe Him together for this miracle in Jesus’s Name!

    Shalom,

    Pastor Wale Ola

    Prayer Focus

    • Let’s pray for the River of God to flow into every part of this ministry and to bring revival.

    • Pray for God to bring healing and deliverance everywhere the River flows.

    • Pray for fruitfulness on every side; for the efforts and work of the ministry to bear fruit.

    • Bring every programme and ministry initiative we will be doing this year before God and pray for God’s blessing on them to prosper them.

    • Pray for souls to be saved and added to the church in abundance.

    • Pray that every month of this year will see souls saved and added to the church from all the nations of the world.

    • Pray that God will establish and cause those who are already planted in the church to flourish and be grounded in Him.

January Prayer and Fasting Day 2 — (Wednesday 30th)

    An Obstacle To Overcome

    Scriptures For Meditation — 2Cor 4:1-4; Col 1:13

Yesterday, we looked into the heart of the Father to see a heart that is relentless in the pursuit of sinners, not to punish them, but to love them into becoming His children.

As was said also, we have been enlisted as co-workers to help in the realisation of this desire.

In response to this, we have undertaken the task to partner with God in prayers over this fasting period to see His kingdom enlarge; however our commitment to this task, must go beyond simply praying: “Lord, please make it happen in Jesus’s Name”.

    We have to work smart!

We need to understand and work with the knowledge of the critical truth expressed in our first scripture for today — we would be dealing with people whose minds have been blinded by the enemy, in order to prevent them from receiving the truth of the gospel that can save them and set them free; and then, some are bound and need to be loosed even after they get saved, in order to remain in the kingdom.

    Our Task

Our Task today will be to use the authority that God has given to us in Christ Jesus, to remove the obstacles that stand in the way of realising the objective. (Matthew 28:18-20)

Let’s go in the power of the Holy Ghost and see His kingdom come as souls are saved and added to His kingdom!

    Prayer Focus

    • Pray for the minds that have been blocked in resistance to the gospel to be opened and to become responsive to the truth.

    • Take authority over the lies of the enemy and cast down every imagination and knowledge that are being exalted above the word of God.

    • Unlock the prison doors of the strongholds that have kept the people bound, then loose the chains and set the captives free

    • Pray for God to provide opportunities and to orchestrate situations to witness the gospel to the unsaved.

    • Call forth the souls into God’s kingdom and also into our fellowship.

    January Fasting & Prayers — Day 1 (Tuesday 29th)

    January Fasting & Prayers — Day 1 (Tuesday 29th)

    Partnering With God

Scriptures For Meditation: Matthew 9:35-38; Proverbs 11:30

As I prepared to write the blog for this month’s fasting and prayers, a few thoughts came to my mind concerning what was the best way to capture and express what was on my heart concerning the focal point of our fasting.

Then an overriding thought came to my mind as I considered this question:

    I wonder what’s on God’s mind?

I wonder if God has any prayer points; but why would He? Seeing as all things were created by Him and for Him?

But then I thought again; we spend so much time presenting our prayer lists before God; what about agreeing with Him on His own prayer point?

If God had one prayer point, what would it be? That’s what I would want to pray about!

Well, the answer to this question is not a super-spiritually discerned, theological revelation. It can be found by simply looking into the heart of the Father —

The heart of the Father beats for souls to be saved and delivered from the damnation of hell.

That’s the primary reason that He sent His Son Jesus Christ.

It follows then, that we as believers, ought to partner with God, to see His will established on the earth by helping to bring His desire to pass.

Our prayer this month will be our seed into the expansion of God’s kingdom.

Whilst we are believing God for prosperity in our own personal lives; in our business, ministry, finances, careers, etc, we will be partnering in prayers with God over the next three days, to believe with Him for the expansion of His kingdom.

Let’s burden our hearts with that one thing that we know is paramount in God’s heart. When Jesus declared that He will build His church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it, He was looking forward to you and I as believers and ransomed souls, to be the building blocks for His Church.

    What an awesome privilege!

That the creator and possessor of the heavens and the earth will deem it fit to call us His children, co-labourers with Him and joint-heirs with Christ Jesus!

How else can we begin repay that love than by reflecting that same love in our lives and through our actions to bring many more souls into God’s family?

Can you say to the Lord today:

Here I am Lord; send me. I’m available and willing to be used by you!

    Selah

    Pastor Wale Ola

    Prayer Focus

    • Let’s start by thanking God for this ministry; for God’s faithfulness through the years, for the souls that have been saved and touched by the ministry of this fellowship.
    • Let’s thank Him for all those people that He has used over the years to support and to serve in this ministry.
    • Let’s thank Him for the testimonies and the manifestation of His presence and blessings in our lives.
    • Let’s put our needs to the side for the moment and with our whole heart, pray and believe for souls to be saved and added to God’s kingdom.
    • As GLA Lighthouse is an extension of God’s kingdom, let’s pray that we will also see the manifestation of the expansion of His kingdom even in this ministry, as we experience supernatural growth and expansion in the year 2019 in Jesus’s Name.
    • Let’s each pray for God to show us how we can as individuals, be used more by Him in this year for the expansion of His kingdom.
    • Let’s pray for the Anointing and every empowerment and resource we need to be equipped to do this.
End of The Month Fasting & Prayers – March 2022

End of The Month Fasting & Prayers – March 2022

Day 1 – EQUIPPED FOR PURPOSE

Scriptures For Meditation: 2 Peter 1:1-4; Eph 1:1-6

Following the 24 hour prayer chain that we did last month, God has been speaking us extensively about one of the key prayer points that we raised in intercession – Fulfilling His Redemptive Purpose for our lives.

Over the next three days of our waiting on the Lord, we will be praying along this theme, in addition to the prayer points that we prayed for the prayer chain.

    GOD’S PLAN – A Kairos Appointment

Each one of us has a divine assignment that God intends for us to accomplish.

This assignment will often span the different seasons of our lives, and will have different, smaller  component parts of a “Big Picture”; things that happen in our day-day experiences, that all add up to the call on our lives being fulfilled at God’s appointed time.

    EQUIPPED FOR PURPOSE

God has also equipped us with everything that we need to ensure that His purpose for our lives is realised – You are in a glorious, empowered partnership with God — 2 Pet 1:3-4

    The Enemy’s Strategy – John 10:10

The enemy works at cross purposes with God’s intention for our lives. He tries to hinder, abort or destroy his purposes from happening in our lives by employing a few  demonic strategies:

    •   Stop the resources from getting to you that you need to carry out your assignment

    •   Stop you from getting into your sphere of influence or the place of your assignment

    •   Limit your influence if you manage to get there

    •   Frustrate your purpose, by raising opposition, contention, strife, delay, disfavour, fear, doubt, unbelief and the like, to cause you to let go of the promise and give up on the pursuit of purpose and fulfilment of your destiny.

DAY 1 Prayer Focus – Countering All The Moves and Plans of The Enemy Concerning Your Destiny.

Let’s begin by thanking God for the year so far, and for month of March in particular.

Rededicate your life to Him and let’s consecrate ourselves for this time of fasting and prayers.

Let’s pray in the Name of Jesus, that the Holy Spirit will open our ears, hearts, minds and eyes to receive from the heart of the Father.

Pray for God to subvert and cancel every plan of the enemy that he’s launched against you and your destiny starting with the ones highlighted above.

Let’s also pray that there will be a manifestation of the fulness of the resources that God has equipped you with, and made available to you to fulfil your destiny (As defined below):

    The word “Equip” means:

    • To furnish or to make fit for service or action by appropriate provisioning;

    • To provide with something for a specific purpose;

    • To enable or provide with abilities or understanding

    • To train

    • To prepare and make fit for purpose

Pray that all these will be so in your life.

Spend some time to also lift up your brothers and sisters in church and in your family, and intercede on their behalf, praying the same prayer points as above.

    MORNING DEVOTION ON ZOOM (6:00AM – 6:30AM)

Please remember to join us online on Zoom every morning during the fasting for morning devotion from 6:00am – 6:30am.

    October 2021 Fasting & Prayers — Day 3

    Fruitful In Every Way

    Scriptures for Meditation: Mat 6:33, 3John 1:2, Is 37:31

In yesterday’s meditation and prayers, the focus was on developing and nurturing the fruit of the Spirit whilst also dealing with the undesirable character traits in our lives.

    And Then Some More…

But God is talking to us about fruitfulness this month, and this also includes material prosperity in addition to spiritual prosperity. As the Bible says:

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in every way and [that your body] may keep well, even as [I know] your soul keeps well and prospers. 3Jn 1:2

Therefore today, we will also be believing God for fruitfulness in other areas of our lives as well.

In Isaiah 37:31, God sent a prophetic promise to the exiled Israelites about their restoration and impending fruitfulness. And the nature of this change, was that they would take root downwards and bear fruit upwards.

    Prayer Focus

Let’s pray John’s desire for the brethren that we read in 1John 3:2 above, praying that our lives will be fruitful and that we may prosper in every way.

Let’s pray that we will take root downwards. That God will cause us to be firmly rooted in Christ Jesus, such that we become unshakeable in our faith and that the seeds we have sown in faith will not be uprooted by the enemy.

Let’s pray that the harvest from our labour will not fail; that the returns from our planting will bear fruit upwards and multiply to the praise and glory of His name.

Let’s bless the month of November in the name of Jesus. Prophesy into the month of November and pray that God will cause it to be the most fruitful month of the year so far.

Pray that your harvest will not be delayed or hindered and that the fullness of your fruitfulness will be evidently manifest this month in every area of your life in Jesus’s Name.

    Bearing Good Fruit

Scriptures for Meditation: Luke 13:6-9, Luke 3:8-10, Gal 5:16-25

The fruitfulness of a Christian is the foundation of all true prosperity.

There is an appointed season for bearing fruit for every one of us. God has invested so much of Himself and heaven’s resources in us to empower us to be fruitful. Consequently, there is a time that God will come looking for seasonable fruit in your life and hold you accountable for what you have produced.

    Q. What kind of fruit is your life and your Labour producing?

Not only will God be looking for fruits in your life, but also crucially, for what kind of fruit it is that your life is producing or has produced.

The fruits that we produce must be timely and seasonable (appropriate for the season; meeting the needs of the occasion, they must be fit for purpose)

The fruit of the Spirit are the foundational building blocks for Christian Living and Service.

More than material possessions and temporal fruitfulness will do, they provide an accurate measure of the fruitfulness of the knowledge of God in the life of a believer.

    Prayer Focus

Today’s prayers will focus on a commitment to nurturing and manifesting the fruit of the Spirit in our lives.

Read through and meditate on the lists in Gal 5:19-21 and Gal 5:22-23

Ask the Holy Spirit to show you where you are lacking, that He will highlight any particular fruit of the Spirit that may not be mature, or that presents a challenge in your life.

With the help of the Holy Spirit, confront them and pray for the grace of God to be made available to you to walk in victory in those areas in Jesus’s Name.

    October 2021 Fasting & Prayers — Day 1

    October 2021 Fasting & Prayers — Day 1

This Months Theme: Bearing Good Fruit

Scriptures for Meditation: Heb 13:15, Hosea 14:2, Rom 12:1

As we come to the end of this month, one thing that we can definitely say, is that the Lord has been gracious and faithful to keep us through this year.

    Day One Prayer Focus

    1. We are going to start this series of fasting as we always do, by first thanking God for all that He’s done in our lives. Look around you; look at your life and your family and count all the things that God has done, that you can thank Him for.

As the scriptures say in Isaiah 57:19 —

Peace, peace, to him who is far off [both Jew and Gentile] and to him who is near! says the Lord; I create the fruit of his lips, and I will heal him [make his lips blossom anew with speech in thankful praise].

Give thanks to the Lord and pray that He will heal and rid your life of anything that may hinder or impact your fruitfulness, and that He will cause your lips to blossom anew with speech in thankful praise.

    2. Next, we are going to respond to God’s goodness by offering not just the fruit of our lips in thanksgiving, but also offering our very lives as consecrated vessels unto Him.

As Paul also writes to the church in the book of Romans 12:1 —

I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship.

    Rededicate your life to Christ.

Ask God to give you the grace for a renewed commitment to Him and the power to live a life that honours and brings glory to His Name.

September 2021 Fasting and Prayers — Day 3

    An Experiential Knowledge of God

Scriptures For Meditation: Eph 1:Col 1:1-14; Eph 5:14-17

Our prayer focus for today,, will be on having an authentic experimental knowledge of God.

To this end, we will meditate on, and pray the prayers that Paul prayed for the believers in both the Ephesus and Colossian churches over ourselves.

Let’s begin with thanksgiving for the grace that we have received to be called children of God.

    Let’s pray Eph 1:17

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant us a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him,

    Eph 1:18

That the eyes of your heart will be flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones).

    Eph 1:19

That you will know by experience, the workings of the power of His resurrection.

And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength,

    Col 1:9

Pray that you will be filled with the full (deep and clear) knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom [in comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God] and in understanding and discernment of spiritual things.

    Col 1:10

Pray that you may walk (live and conduct yourself) in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him and desiring to please Him in all things.

Pray also, that you will consistently live a life that is bearing fruit in every good work and steadily growing and increasing in and by the knowledge of God [with fuller, deeper, and clearer insight, acquaintance, and recognition].

    Col 1:11

Pray that you may be invigorated and strengthened with all power according to the might of His glory, [to exercise] every kind of endurance and patience (perseverance and forbearance) with joy,

Let’s prophesy Into the month of October, That our knowledge of God will indeed produce fruit that will also prosper us in all our ways, spiritually, temporally and materially.

Let’s pray also, that the month of October will align with the perfect will of God for us and that the riches of His grace and favour will be abundantly manifest in our lives in Jesus’s Name.

Let’s end today with a prayer of thanksgiving and rededication, consecrating our lives afresh to Him and praying that the evidence of our faith in the Lord will bring glory to His Name and draw others to Him, desiring to serve Him as well.

    Amen.

    Shalom,

    Pastor Wale Ola

September 2021 Fasting and Prayers — Day 2

    Continually Being Transformed

    Scripture For Meditation: Phil 3:10

In yesterday’s meditation and prayers, we concentrated on rededicating ourselves to God, asking Him to dredge and rid our lives of the rubbish that has clogged up and inhibited the channels of His rivers from flowing with purity in and through our lives; and have stopped us from knowing Him and walking with Him more intimately.

We also prayed for God to unveil our minds so that the fulness of the truth of the Gospel can be made known to us with clarity and with power.

Now, these prayers we are praying have a purpose that we are setting our hearts to accomplish.

Our main scripture for today’s meditation is Phil 3:10 where Apostle Paul declares:

“My determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly]…”

    Phil 3:10 (Amp)

We as Paul did, will also purposefully determine that we may know Christ more, and that our knowledge of God will lead to a transformation in our lives that we become more like Christ.

This was Paul’s overriding desire for both himself and the people that he ministered to.

Paul wanted A transformative knowledge and not just an informative knowledge of Christ!

He wanted to be completely overtaken with Jesus — That should be the heartbeat of every believer; that the inherent power of this gospel that we preach will truly have a transformative effect in our lives. This should be your determined purpose:

To use the information that you have about Jesus as a tool to bring about a transformation in your life and situation!

Paul knew Jesus as Savior, but he also wanted to know Him as Lord. Paul wanted a relationship with Jesus Christ that was so real and strong that it influenced who Paul was and how he lived.

Can you say the same thing about yourself?

More Questions To Ponder and Pray About

Is your knowledge of Christ deep enough that every area of your life is influenced by what you know?

Do you know Him enough that you have modelled your life to be like Him?

Have you allowed your knowledge of Christ to continually transform you like it did Paul, as he affirmed in the concluding part of his statement in Phil 3:10—

“…and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope]”

    Phil 3:10 (Amp)

Pray that the resurrection power that raised Christ from the dead will indeed exert that life-changing influence upon your life, that will cause you to be continually transformed into the likeness of Christ.

    Selah…

Open The Eyes of My Heart Lord!

    Scriptures For Meditation — 2 Cor 4:4; 2Cor 10:1-5; Eph 1:17-19

Following on from the sermon that was preached last Sunday, we will begin this month’s fasting and prayers with a cry to the Lord to open the eyes of our understanding to receive the truth of His word.

In 2 Cor 4:4, we see one of the main strategies of Satan in his warfare against mankind — to becloud people’s minds with the veil of darkness in order to prevent them from imbibing the truth of the gospel that will set them free, in the case of unbelievers, or to hinder them from walking in the fullness of their freedom when they do get saved!

There are many born again, Spirit-filled believers who despite their love for God and sincerity of their faith, are nonetheless, struggling in their walk with God in some area or the other. And then, there are many of us as well, who know that we could still go deeper and get more intimate in our knowledge of God.

2Cor 10:1-5 talks about the reality of this warfare that the believer is engaged in, then gives us an insight into the weapons that we have in Christ Jesus that guarantee our victory in this battle.

Four Principal Focus Areas of Warfare

The passage also highlights four principal ways that the weapons help us to confront and overcome the enemy, so that we are able to enforce our victory as believers:

    • Strongholds are brought down

    • Arguments are refuted

    • High Things are dismantled

    • Thoughts are held captive and brought under subjection to the word of God.

    Prayer Focus

Let’s begin by praying as Paul did in Eph 1:17-19, asking God to unveil our minds and to fill our hearts with His glorious light.

Let’s pray that whatever veil the enemy has used to cover our understanding be removed, so that we can know God even more clearly and be more intimately acquainted with Him.

Let’s pray that every stronghold that the enemy has erected in our lives to resist our growth in the Lord and progress in our walk of faith will be demolished in Jesus’s Name.

Let’s pray that God will shut the mouth of the accuser and refute every argument that the enemy has raised in contention against us in Jesus’s Name.

Let’s pray that every high thing that has been raised to resist the true knowledge of God be dismantled and made of no effect in Jesus’s Name.

Let’s pray that every contrary thought that is not in alignment with the will, plans, purposes and the truth of God concerning our life be arrested and brought under subjection to the authority that we have in Christ Jesus.

Let’s finish by rededicating our lives to God, and asking Him to fill us afresh with the knowledge of the greatness of His power, so that we can walk in the fullness of His call upon our lives and fulfil the purpose for which He has created and saved us.

    July 2021 Fasting & Prayers — Day 3

    July 2021 Fasting & Prayers — Day 3

AUGUST, HEAR THE WORD OF THE LORD!

Scriptures For Meditation — Ecc 8:4; Mark 11:22-24

“Where the word of a king is, there is power; And who may say to him, “What are you doing?”

“Where the word of a king is, there is power…”

Waiting for direction for our concluding prayers on the last day of this month’s fasting and prayer, the first part of our scripture for today (Ecc 8:4) was what kept ringing in my spirit —

As the Amplified version of the bible puts it:

“the word of a king is authoritative and powerful…”.

There is great power in the word of God! The prophets of the Old Testament times exhibited a profound understanding of this truth, as they would usually preface a prophecy to the people with the phrase:

    “Thus saith the Lord”;

and the Lord would back up the words that He gave them to speak in His Name, by His miraculous power!

We read about Ezekiel commanding the dry bones to hear the word of the Lord and come to life; God also commanded him to prophesy to the mountains and hills of Israel and to call out to every kind of bird and all the wild animals.

Elijah declared to the skies to withhold rain for three and a half years. Jesus spoke to the fig tree and it obeyed; He spoke to the seas and the winds, they obeyed; He called out to Lazarus, dead four days and stinking; Lazarus came back to life —

And the NLT version puts it this way:

“His command is backed by great power. No one can resist or question it.” Ecc 8:4

Even death and the grave could not resist the power and authority of the word of His command.

As the bible tells us in Heb 1:3, He upholds all things by the word of His power. Hallelujah!

With all these in mind, we will open our mouths and declare God’s counsel and blessings over and into the month of August, concerning every area of our lives, church and family.

    Come, Bless the Lord

Psa 134:1 A Song of Ascents. Behold, bless the LORD, All you servants of the LORD, Who by night stand in the house of the LORD!

Psa 134:2 Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, And bless the LORD.

Psa 134:3 The LORD who made heaven and earth Bless you from Zion!

    Prayer Focus

Open your mouth wide and prophesy into the month of August.

Declare that it is only the counsel of the Lord that will stand in your life, family, household, business, ministry, education, etc.

Petition God for, and declare open heavens over the month of August.

Prophesy divine alignment of your life with the resources, provisions and blessings that God had purposed for your season.

Prophesy the opening of the miraculous gateways and the doorways of blessings, favour and breakthroughs for yourself, your household and the church family in Jesus’s Name.

Let God fill your mouth with praise as you thank Him in advance for answering your prayers. Amen.

    July 2021 Fasting & Prayers — Day 2

    July 2021 Fasting & Prayers — Day 2

    The Seed of Greatness

    Scriptures For Meditation — Gen 12:1-3; Gal 3:7-9, Gal 3:16;26-29; Eph 3:20

In Gen 12:1-3, the bible records one of the greatest promises that any man would ever receive from God.

God had previously had a conversation with Abraham, where He made some promises to him. Gal 3:7-9 expands on these promises, and verses 16;26-29 bring the point home.

In Christ Jesus, we are the seed of Abraham and joint heirs with Christ of the promises that God made to Abraham — the seed of the greatness that God promised Abraham is also in us!

Let’s Look At What This Seed of Greatness Promises Us

    God said to Abraham:

    • I will make you a great nation — Multiplication (Calling the things that did not yet exist as if they already did!)

    • I will bless you — Anointing (empower you with all you need to be all I’ve called you to be)

    • I will make your name great — Power and Renown

    • You shall be a blessing — Prosperity

    • And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed — Overflow and Influence

    Beyond Limits

As we can see, the promises that God made to Abraham were not to be limited or contained just to himself alone; it was to be an overarching blessing that would overflow into generations and also into nations, benefitting many beyond his immediate sphere of influence.

We will be praying today as we wait on the Lord in fasting, that He will take the limits off our lives and off our minds, such that we can receive all that He wants to do in us, so that we can accomplish all that He wants to do through us.

Take the limits off me Lord!

Let’s pray for a fresh infilling and overflow of the Holy Spirit into our lives, homes businesses, ministries, jobs, in Jesus’s Name.

Let’s pray that we will see and experience the evidence of this filling in Jesus’s Name.

Let’s pray that God will activate the seed of greatness that is in us through our faith in Christ Jesus.

Let’s pray for the release of all the promises that are contained in that seed, so that the blessings of Abraham may be truly ours as God has promised. (Multiplication, anointing/divine enablement, power and renown, prosperity and influence).

Let’s pray that our lives will align with God’s agenda for the month of August, and for every limitation that has set us back to be taken out of the way in Jesus’s Name.

    Amen
