2018 Fasting and Prayers – Day 7

iWitness

Scripture For Meditation – 2 Cor 3:1-18; Acts 1:8

In one of the scriptures that we meditated on yesterday (Acts 1:8), Jesus promised the disciples that they would receive power to be His witnesses when they received the Holy Spirit.

There is an important truth that is also implied in that promise; another aspect of being witnesses, that also holds true for us believers even now —

In every sense of the word, being a witness means that your life must bear witness to, or confirm the gospel that you are preaching. [The messenger must not be a contradiction to the message]

It follows therefore that:

If you are bringing the Good News to someone, your life should also reflect the goodness of that news.

If you preach deliverance, the message of deliverance must be confirmed by a life of the witness that is being lived in victory.

If you preach abundant life, the message that declares abundant life in Christ Jesus, must also be reflected in the life of a messenger that manifests that abundant life.

If we have declared Him to be the God of miracles, signs and wonders, then the reality of our existence as a church and your daily existence as a child of God must also bear witness to that truth!

So friend, are all these true about your life?

You may look at certain areas of your life right now or situations that you have been going through and see a variation from the truth; this however, is not a reason for you to despair, rather, it is the opportunity to call on Heaven’s Influence to work in your favour to bring the needed change.

“All of us, then, reflect the glory of the Lord with uncovered faces; and that same glory, coming from the Lord, who is the Spirit, transforms us into his likeness in an ever greater degree of glory.” 2 Cor 3:18
Good News Translation

Prayer Focus

  • Let my life not be a contradiction to the good news of the Gospel that I preach.
  • Let my life bear witness to the truth of The Holy Scriptures that I have believed and I have confessed.
  • Whatever areas of my life are not in agreement with Your word, let Your divine influence work to bring a change that conforms with Your word.
  • Let your miracles, signs and wonders be real and present in my life, (mention any situation you may need help in) in my family, in the church.

Shalom,

2018 Fasting & Prayers — Day 6

Power Show

Scriptures For Meditation – Acts 1:8; Eph 3:20, Col 1:13

We have indirectly talked about a very important word over the past few days of our fasting meditation and prayers; that word is INFLUENCE.

We talked about how strongholds exert demonic influences over people and their destinies, and also about how negative words and pronouncements can have disruptive influences that hinder our progress or advancement in life. (more…)

God Has The Final Say

Scriptures For Meditation — Pro 18:21; Luke 6:45; Matt 18:18-20

As a follow up to what we meditated on yesterday, I will like to share a little story about one of the greatest minds the world has ever known, and how words written about him, could have completely derailed his destiny.  (more…)

Count Your Blessings

Scripture For Meditation: PSALM 103:1-5; PSALM 100:4-5

For some of us, the period leading to the end of the year is sometimes the least likely for us to be in a thankful mood.

We get so consumed or overwhelmed by the expenses that invariably come with the season and maybe contrast these against the backdrop of unfulfilled expectations and disappointments of the outgoing year, and wonder if there is anything really to be thankful for. (more…)
